Libby was born in Atlanta, then grew up mostly in Las Vegas and Seoul. She also lived in Los Angeles for three months in high school if that counts. Now, she is a Chicago and New York based actor.
She often gets cast as vulnerable, sensitive characters who are dealing with heavy circumstances a.k.a. she cries very well (check her reel). Her favorite role to date is when she played Rose Mundy in Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa, and Then Jane in The Oregon Trail.
Libby sings and dances well, but she is an actor first. She is fluent in and enjoys all mediums, but her true love is live theatre. Greek tragedies and Chekhovs are where she likes to live. Her role models are Cynthia Erivo, Jessie Mueller, Daniel Day Lewis, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Taeri Kim, Delroy Lindo, Stephanie Hsu, and Saorise Ronan in no particular order.
Before she became a performer, Libby was a designer. She studied Industrial Design at Seoul National University and designed kitchens for two years before she found her true calling. She is a recent graduate of the Acting MFA program at Northwestern University (check out her Showcase, it was pretty good). Before that, she attended Circle in the Square Theatre School, which is a secret school in the basement of a Broadway theatre.
An aspiring comedy nerd and fan of anything funny, Libby is usually watching Veep, I Think You Should Leave, or listening to her favorite episodes of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend on repeat on any given day. She would watch Parks and Rec too if she believed Peacock was a real streaming service.
